Judging

Our Judges

Once again our judging panel will be the team from Professional Photographer Association (PPA):

Therese Aleman, Marketing & Communications Director for PPA

Cheryl Pearson, Creative Services Coordinator for PPA

Debbie Todd,  Art Director for Professional Photographer magazine

Finalists are determined based on votes only. The contestants with the highest vote totals will move into the Finalist Gallery. A total of 25 entrants will move on to the final judging round.

Judging is based on the image that best represents the theme “The Cutest Kid”. The judges also look at the composition and posing (professional but not forced, and balanced within the frame), lighting, as well as eye contact with the viewer. They want to find the image that best shows the personality of the child.

The judges will select the Grand Prize winning image from the 25 finalists, and will select 2nd and 3rd place finishers also. The decision of the judges is final.
